Project Background: “Sounds and Colors in Stereo” is a collection of beats that I put together as an introductory statement of sorts.
I grew up on the jazzy boom bap textures of A Tribe Called Quest, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, The Pharcyde, De La Soul, etc. so I wanted to create a project that paid homage to these classics that inspire the music that I make.
In addition to this, while paying respects to the classic sounds that I grew up on, I wanted to experiment with some sounds of today, so I sprinkled in a few instrumentals featuring trap styled beats, and to add a unique layer of musicality, I tried blending these sounds with Afrobeat, Bossa Nova and Jazz.
