The much-anticipated album ‘I Am Music’ from Playboi Carti might finally see the light of day, all thanks to a bold push from streaming sensation Kai Cenat at the Grammys red carpet.

In a surprising turn of events, streaming celebrity Kai Cenat took to his Instagram Stories to claim a role in motivating Playboi Carti to release his long-awaited album, ‘I Am Music.’ On Tuesday, February 4, Cenat’s Instagram post stirred excitement among fans as he credited himself for encouraging the Atlanta rapper to make his music available to the world.

During a red carpet interview at the 2025 Grammy Awards, Access Hollywood posed a question to Cenat about what he felt was missing in the music world in 2025. Kai’s straightforward answer was, ‘The Playboi Carti album. He needs to drop, for real.’ His enthusiasm was clear as he added, ‘I’m on national TV. Drop, gang! You feel what I’m saying? So yeah, that’s what we missing. In my world, a lot of people need that, so we need to make sure that happens.’

Notably, Playboi Carti seemed to take note of Cenat’s comments. The rapper responded to the video, calling it the ‘REALEST VIDEO I SEEN IN 2025’ and suggesting it might motivate him to finally release his music.

This interaction comes after Carti hinted at a 2024 release for ‘I Am Music’ through a series of new song premieres at Rolling Loud Miami in December. Despite fans’ hopes, a firm release date still eludes them.

The frustration among Carti’s fanbase has been growing. Fans were so fed up with the delays that they initiated an online petition to ban the rapper from streaming platforms. The petition, which now has close to 9,000 signatures, accuses Carti of deceiving fans with empty promises and demands accountability.

Fans highlighted how Carti had previously assured them, on December 14, 2023, that a new album would drop in 2024. Instead, fans have seen only snippets, random tracks on YouTube and Instagram, and no sign of the album he promised.

The petition emphasizes a call for artists to maintain the trust of their listeners, arguing that failure to uphold this trust should come with consequences.

With growing anticipation and a touch of humor, Cenat’s public nudge might be the catalyst Carti needs to turn promises into reality. Whether this bold approach will finally lead to the album’s release remains to be seen.

As fans eagerly await ‘I Am Music,’ the playful yet earnest push from Kai Cenat might just be what Carti needs to fulfill his promise. Only time will tell if this buzz leads to action.
