Cardi B spilled the tea to People about how Scarlet’s line from RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 6 really resonated with her and shaped her upcoming album.
She said, “I feel like I’m always in some drama, and I don’t understand why I’m always in some drama. It’s like, ‘D**n, am I the drama? Is it me? Like, what? Why am I always in some s###?’ But I do know she proclaimed it on Drag Race and it’s like, Well s###, great minds think alike. She proclaimed it before me and I’m gonna give her, always, the props. I always give people props. I love her, and I’m gonna be working with her more often.”
So, Scarlet’s quote — “Is it me? Am I the drama? I don’t think I’m the drama. Maybe I am? Am I the villain? I don’t think I’m the villain” went viral after the show, sparking memes, lip-syncs, and celeb shout-outs for its relatable vibes and dramatic delivery.
In a fun twist, Scarlet Envy, or Jacob James Grady, is from Louisville, Kentucky. She’s been on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 11, All Stars 6, and UK vs. the World 2. She was raised by two moms and is the drag daughter of Season 7 finalist Pearl.
Am I the Drama? is Cardi’s first full album since her 2018 banger Invasion of Privacy.
The album’s got 23 tracks, including hits like “WAP,” “Up,” and her latest, “Outside.”
The cover art shows Cardi in a red bodysuit, surrounded by crows, which totally fits the album’s whole drama vibe. Am I the Drama? is set to drop on September 19, 2025.
