Lil Baby’s fans were eagerly awaiting his new album ‘Dominique’ in February, but as time ticked on, the release never came. Now, there’s finally some good news straight from the artist himself.
In a recent social media video, Lil Baby, the powerhouse of rap, revealed that ‘Dominique’ will now be dropping in May. “The album dropping in eight weeks. I had to push it back,” he said, leaving his followers in anticipation.
Earlier this year, Lil Baby released ‘WHAM,’ an album that quickly climbed to the top of the Billboard 200, ahead of notable artists like Bad Bunny, SZA, Kendrick Lamar, and Sabrina Carpenter. It dropped on January 3 and featured collaborations with Travis Scott, Future, Young Thug, GloRilla, Rod Wave, Rylo, and 21 Savage.
Just as ‘WHAM’ was taking over the charts, Lil Baby already began stirring excitement for ‘Dominique.’ On Instagram, he hinted at its release by sharing stats for ‘WHAM,’ saying, “See yall Again in a couple weeks ‘Dominique’ The Album 2-?-25.”
On Lil Yachty’s ‘A Safe Place’ podcast in December, Lil Baby explained the difference between the two albums. ‘WHAM’ is all about the flashy, vibrant lifestyle—think fast cars and bling. In contrast, ‘Dominique’ promises a more personal and serious tone. “That’s a part of the new journey I’m on. I hate the word vulnerable, but I’m gonna be more open to my fans and my audience,” he shared.
This summer, Lil Baby plans to hit the road with ‘WHAM,’ bringing along rising stars like NLE Choppa, BigXthaPlug, and Loe Shimmy. The tour kicks off in Houston on June 3 and includes U.S. dates through July 1, with more shows in Europe and Australia later in the year.
BigXthaPlug will perform at most U.S. and all Australian dates, excluding Los Angeles. NLE Choppa joins him for most U.S. shows, except Miami. Meanwhile, Loe Shimmy will be featured at all U.S. performances.
For fans of Lil Baby, the wait for ‘Dominique’ might be a bit longer, but with the anticipation growing and his tour on the horizon, 2025 looks to be another exciting year for the rapper.
