Drake has filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Group, alleging a major conspiracy involving Kendrick’s label, Interscope, to artificially inflate the popularity of Kendrick’s diss track ‘Not Like Us’. The legal drama thickens with stories of bots and shady practices.

Although Kendrick hasn’t been named in the lawsuit, his lyrical response on the album is catching attention. During a previous performance, Kendrick referenced the lawsuit but hasn’t officially commented further.

Kendrick’s verse also alludes to Drake’s 2016 hit ‘Fake Love’, hinting at industry pretenses with lines about love and hate. It’s a clever twist that keeps listeners hooked and speculating.

The album faced a release delay, with Playboi Carti explaining it was due to sample clearances. Nevertheless, it made its debut, packed with tracks featuring heavyweights like Future, Travis Scott, and The Weeknd.

Kendrick appears on other tracks like “Backd00r” alongside SZA, enhancing the album’s diverse appeal. The project marks Carti’s first full album release since 2020’s ‘Whole Lotta Red’ and carries massive expectations.
