Jim Jones has pumped the brakes on releasing his fiery diss track aimed at Cam’ron, yielding to his label’s request.
The Dipset rapper stirred the pot by announcing on Instagram that the much-anticipated single, ‘JOMO,’ will drop on January 31st, albeit slightly delayed. He candidly admitted, ‘My label told me I’m trippin slow down a bit my bad,’ reflecting a strategic pause in this musical feud.
In true Harlem fashion, Jones teased yet another track, a remix titled ‘Tht Sh!t Still in HARLEM,’ featuring local heavyweights like Juelz Santana, Vado, and Dave East. He also hinted at an upcoming album, ‘At the Church Steps,’ keeping fans guessing about its release date.
Originally, ‘JOMO,’ produced by Statik Selektah, was expected to land this past Monday. However, it seems the diss track is a calculated response to Cam’ron’s earlier rants on his sports talk show, where Cam’ron claimed he and Ma$e were the ones who taught Jones how to rap.
Cam’ron didn’t hold back during his tirade, accusing Jones of leading his associates into legal trouble, referencing the Nine Trey Gangsters case. ‘Stop tricking n-ggas out they freedom,’ he exclaimed, pointing to past incidents involving high-profile personalities like Shotti, who faced serious jail time.
In a snippet of ‘JOMO,’ Jones fires back at Cam’ron’s accusations, asserting, ‘All my n-ggas do they time, you know my team body.’ He references the time away from his friends, expressing loyalty and a sense of solidarity.
Throughout the years, the relationship between Cam’ron and Jones has been rocky, marked by public spats and unresolved issues. Despite attempts by others to mediate, the beef seems far from over.
As the release of ‘JOMO’ remains on hold, the hip hop community watches closely. Jim Jones and Cam’ron continue to captivate fans with their ongoing discord, a saga that shows no signs of resolution.
