Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR are turning up the heat with their latest album cover reveal for ‘Some Sexy Songs 4 U’, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
The dynamic duo has just dropped the cover art of their upcoming album, and fans are buzzing with excitement. Debuted on Instagram, the artwork showcases both artists clad in plush mink coats against a snowy backdrop. It’s a subtle nod to the chilly winters of Ontario, their shared home state.
The art features the Absolute World skyscrapers lurking in the background, highlighting PARTYNEXTDOOR’s roots in Mississauga, not too far from Drake’s Toronto stomping grounds. As anticipation builds, everyone is eagerly awaiting the album drop scheduled for February 14, making Valentine’s Day extra special for music lovers.
While the tracklist and possible collaborations remain under wraps, Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR have been tantalizing their fanbase with snippets and teasers leading up to the release.
Last weekend, amidst his rival Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans, Drake dropped a sneak peek of a song titled ‘Crying In Chanel.’ Just days before that, he shared an untitled track snippet on Instagram, hinting at the sensual and, at times, toxic R&B vibe the album promises.
During his Anita Max Win Tour stop in Melbourne, Drake confirmed the album’s diverse sound palette. He promised that while there are plenty of tunes for chilled-out moments, the album packs in its share of ‘turn up’ tracks as well.
Drake shared with the audience, ‘It got an album coming out on February 14th with my brother PARTYNEXTDOOR. It’s called Some Sexy Songs 4 U, but it’s some turned up songs for you on there, too. And there’s some personal feelings on there for you.’
The album marks Drake’s first major project since his public spat with Kendrick Lamar, which many say left him on the losing side. It also extends his creative partnership with PARTYNEXTDOOR, following successful collaborations on hits like ‘Recognize’ and ‘Come and See Me.’
However, it’s still unclear how the album will be released due to Drake’s ongoing legal tangle with Universal Music Group, whom he accuses of defamation related to Kendrick’s diss track ‘Not Like Us.’
With Valentine’s Day around the corner, ‘Some Sexy Songs 4 U’ promises to be the perfect soundtrack for a memorable evening. Whether it’s chill vibes or upbeat tracks, Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR are set to deliver something special.
