Sean Combs was found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, but was acquitted of the more severe charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.

Through her legal representative, Douglas H. Wigdor, Casandra Ventura has unequivocally urged for the continued imprisonment of Combs, also known as Diddy. The request was made public in a statement shortly after the jury pronounced their verdict in the federal trial against the Bad Boy Records mogul.

Ventura implored the presiding judge to maintain Combs’ incarceration at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he has been held since his arrest in September 2024.

The statement issued, reads: “We write as counsel for Casandra Ventura (‘Ms. Ventura’) to respectfully request that the Court deny Mr. Combs to be released pending his sentencing on his two convictions under 18 U.S.C. 2421. Pursuant to the Bail Reform Act, 18 U.S.C. 1343 (a)(2), detention is mandatory post-conviction on these charges, and Ms. Ventura believes that Mr. Combs is likely to pose a danger to the victims who testified in this case, including herself, as well as to the community.”

Ventura’s attorney expressed relief that Combs had been held accountable to some extent, but disappointment that he was not found guilty on all five counts. Wigdor stated: “This entire criminal process started when our client Cassie Ventura had the courage to file her civil complaint in November 2023. Although the jury did not find [Diddy] guilty of sex trafficking Cassie beyond a reasonable doubt, she paved the way for a jury to find him guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution.”

He continued, “By coming forward with her experience, Cassie has left an indelible mark on both the entertainment industry and the fight for justice. She displayed unquestionable strength and brought attention to the realities of powerful men in our orbit and the misconduct that has persisted for decades without repercussion. This case proved that change is long overdue, and we will continue to fight on behalf of survivors.” The final decision on Combs’ bail will be announced by the judge at 5 p.m. ET on Wednesday, July 2.
