In an unexpected move, Tyler, the Creator gifted his fans a unique Christmas delight by remixing Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Hey Now.’ A fan’s plea for Tyler to freestyle on the track was answered when he tweeted, “Merry christmas. had fun with it,” and shared a YouTube link to the remix, aptly named ‘That Guy.’

Tyler took the opportunity to weave in clever references, nodding to his surprise appearance earlier this year at Lamar’s monumental Pop Out concert. “Lil bunny hop out, you seen me at the pop out / Pandemonium screaming like they brought pac out,” he rapped, adding his signature flair to the track.

He also highlighted his recent achievements, boasting about the extraordinary success of his latest album, Chromakopia. Tyler rapped, “300k in four days Chromakopia / 12 days gold I ain’t even drop deluxe one,” underscoring the album’s rapid climb up the charts.

But the pull of friendship and the event itself was too enticing to resist.

While the Pop Out concert didn’t see a full set from Tyler, he did treat fans to two performances, one of which was his 2019 hit “Earfquake.” This moment further cemented his bond with Lamar’s audience and reinforced his status in the music scene.

Chromakopia, Tyler’s latest offering, has been nothing short of a triumph. It topped the Billboard 200 chart for three weeks, selling over half a million copies in less than a month.
