The Roots are preparing to rock New York City with a series of shows to celebrate 30 years since releasing their first major-label studio album, Do You Want More?!!!??!. From March 13 to 15, they will take over the Blue Note to relive their iconic music.

Questlove and Black Thought, the band’s enduring members, took to Instagram to announce this thrilling news. The shows won’t cover the entire album but will feature select hits, ensuring the audience gets a taste of their classics.

Questlove expressed his excitement over Instagram, crediting Do You Want More?!!!??! as the starting point of their successful journey, letting them produce 15 more albums.

It’s been a long time since The Roots released new music—since 2014, in fact. But thanks to Common and Pete Rock’s collaboration, a new album seems likely.

During a Questlove Supreme podcast episode, Questlove shared how The Auditorium Vol. 1 by Common and Pete Rock reignited their creative spirit, particularly sparking Black Thought’s songwriting.

Questlove mentioned Black Thought’s newfound inspiration, even recalling a day where Tariq wrote seven songs, something they hadn’t achieved since their earlier albums.

The Roots are all set for a comeback with a much anticipated new album. Questlove hinted at an impactful release date in 2025, without revealing specifics.

Fans of The Roots have a thrilling celebration and music revival to look forward to.
