Taxstone, the well-known podcaster, is in hot water again as he’s caught in a contraband scandal at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center.

  • Taxstone, already serving a lengthy sentence, now faces additional charges for contraband smuggling attempts.
  • The contraband smuggling operation involved eight inmates and a former correctional officer, with Taxstone allegedly orchestrating plans with others to smuggle in banned items.
  • A recent violent incident in the jail involved a stabbing attack on Jam Master Jay’s convicted killer, leading to more charges against inmates.
  • Aside from Taxstone, numerous others face charges related to the contraband operation and violent incidents in the jail.

In a turn of events that echoes a Hollywood drama, Taxstone, currently serving a 35-year sentence, finds himself in a web of fresh charges. He’s accused of being part of a contraband operation at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn where high-profile inmates like Diddy reside.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office revealed that Taxstone, also known as Daryl Campbell, is one of eight inmates slapped with charges related to smuggling contraband. Among these individuals, a former correctional officer was caught trying to sneak in items like marijuana and cigarettes.

According to records, Taxstone allegedly devised a scheme with five other inmates to move drugs, cigarettes, and other banned goods into the jail from April to June 2024. He reportedly instructed partners to toss a line out of a window, allowing co-conspirators outside to attach the contraband.

On June 30, 2024, officers uncovered an attempt to ‘reel in’ various items, including a scalpel, suboxone, and marijuana, through the recreation room window. This bold move could extend Taxstone’s sentence by an extra 10 years if the charges stick.

Trouble continues to brew inside the detention center. The recent stabbing of Karl Jordan, known for his past link to Jam Master Jay’s murder, added fuel to the fire of chaos within the facility.

Inmates Brian Castro and his companions have been charged after a vicious assault that left Jordan with multiple stab wounds. The clash, which took place on February 22, ended with Jordan in the hospital and many others needing medical attention.

This wave of violence saw more than 20 inmates assessed for injuries, with at least five hospitalized. The violent climate in the facility shows a growing tension among its inhabitants.

Taxstone’s legal troubles stem back to his conviction in the shooting and killing of Ronald “Banga” McPhatter in 2016. Although acquitted of murder, he was found guilty of manslaughter and other charges leading to a 35-year sentence.

Taxstone’s saga at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center continues with new charges and a brewing storm of violence.
