NLE Choppa has found himself in the middle of a storm once again. The rapper recently graced the cover of Playgirl, setting off a tide of accusations about ‘gay baiting.’ Instead of shying from controversy, he’s tackling it head-on.

NLE Choppa, a well-known Memphis rapper, is no stranger to controversy. His latest appearance as a cover star for Playgirl magazine has sparked fresh allegations of ‘gay baiting.’ People are buzzing over his bold photoshoot that even showcases a glimpse of his backside.

Previously, NLE Choppa faced similar criticism for his provocative pictures and his 2024 track, “Slut Me Out 2.” The lyrics, ‘If I was a bad bitch, I’d wanna fuck me too,’ made waves, but he remains unfazed. In a new video, he states clearly that he is neither gay nor attempting to bait anyone.

“I really don’t care, and I think that’s the problem,” he declares. His laid-back attitude doesn’t mean he’s unconfident about who he is. He argues that his nonchalance is why these narratives arise. He’s eager to set the record straight, emphasizing his comfort in showcasing what he sees as his God-given ‘perfection.’

“I am not a gay baiter,” NLE Choppa insists. Posting selfies or photos that reveal a bit more skin is simply an expression of his self-confidence, he explains. “I can’t show a piece of my own ass without being called a name? It’s my ass!” he exclaims with conviction.

Despite the backlash, NLE Choppa maintains respect for the LGBTQ+ community. Last September, he performed at Atlanta’s Black Pride Weekend, demonstrating his support. Even before hitting the stage, he anticipated critical comments yet stood his ground.

He responded to potential critics, saying, “A lot of muthafuckas will ask me, ‘You a rapper, what you doing at a club like this?’ Well, I say, ‘Fuck them n-ggas.’” He stresses his belief in equality irrespective of race, size, looks, or sexual orientation.

NLE Choppa further assured fans that his presence was genuine and not aimed at gaining followers. “I’m really here to make a difference and show y’all it’s love, bruh. We Black, no matter what,” he professed, underscoring his overarching message of unity and acceptance.

In a world where acceptance is a constant struggle, NLE Choppa chooses to rise above labels and criticisms. His message is clear: everyone is equal, and love should prevail. Whether he’s breaking barriers or delivering powerful performances, he’s doing it with authenticity.
