Mustard, the celebrated producer, has some candid advice for Drake in the wake of Kendrick Lamar’s bold declaration at the Super Bowl: just make good music. After Kendrick’s memorable halftime show, where he signaled “Game Over,” Drake finds himself at a crossroads in this ongoing musical rivalry.

In a conversation with Big Boy, Mustard was asked how Drake should respond after Kendrick’s commanding performance. His response was straightforward: avoid gimmicks and focus on creating pure, quality music. “Just make music, man. Make good music and you’ll be fine,” he asserted, emphasizing the importance of authenticity in the industry.

Mustard’s cameo during the Super Bowl performance adds another layer to his advice. Yet, he’s not alone in his counsel to Drake. Killer Mike also suggested that setbacks are part of the hip hop game. “Take your losses like you take your wins,” he advised, encouraging Drake to focus on what his fans love most: dope music.

Adding to this sentiment, Killer Mike pointed out that all greats have faced losses but turned them into comebacks. He cited examples like Eazy-E and Dr. Dre, who overcame defeats and achieved success with projects like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and The Chronic, respectively.

50 Cent also had words of support for Drake, reminding him that financial success is its own victory. “They said you lost, okay. Well what did you lose?” he questioned, highlighting the fact that despite the beef, Drake’s tour was massively profitable.

Meanwhile, Drake has yet to respond directly to Kendrick’s Super Bowl antics. However, he remains defiant, as shown by his recent performances in Australia where he tweaked his lyrics to suggest the beef is still ongoing: “Beef is live, spoiler alert: I never died.”

In the face of rivalries and setbacks, Mustard and other industry veterans remind us that longevity in music comes from creating authentic, quality art. For Drake, the message is clear: leave behind the theatrics and focus on what he does best.
