Fans are buzzing, but not in the way Lil Baby might have hoped. The rapper is facing scrutiny over assertions regarding the sales figures of his latest cannabis launch, leaving many questioning the authenticity of the claims.

On a recent Tuesday, Lil Baby’s brand, The Holding Company, boasted an impressive $30.4 million in earnings from their cannabis strain, WHAM. The figures were reportedly generated from over 327,000 orders just weeks after the product’s debut.

However, when prominent social media personality Akademiks reposted this claim, fans quickly cried foul. Doubts surfaced regarding the legitimacy of the earnings, with one skeptical fan pointing out that the Shopify screenshot seemed fishy. ‘This isn’t a real Shopify screenshot lol. Font is incorrect,’ they wrote.

Another observer broke down the math, suggesting that if WHAM were priced at premium rates, the reported sales implied 15,000 lbs sold in just 15 days. ‘You can’t sell us bullshit…we know the prices,’ they remarked.

Others chimed in questioning the believability of the statements, adding to the growing skepticism online: ‘If you’re gonna lie at least make it believable. Shit don’t even make sense.’ Meanwhile, despite the controversy surrounding his cannabis line, Lil Baby’s music is thriving.

His album, also titled WHAM, has landed the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart, outperforming big names like Bad Bunny and Kendrick Lamar. This achievement marks Lil Baby’s fourth album to achieve such success, joining the ranks of previous hits ‘It’s Only Me’ and his collaboration with Lil Durk, ‘The Voice of the Heroes.’

The album, which dropped on January 3, features a variety of collaborations with artists like Travis Scott and Future. As fans anticipate his second album ‘Dominique,’ set to release soon, Lil Baby hints at a more personal and introspective journey with his upcoming work.

In a recent chat with Lil Yachty on ‘A Safe Place’ podcast, Lil Baby explained the contrasting vibes between his two albums. While ‘WHAM’ captures the energetic and vibrant lifestyle filled with fast cars and jewelry, ‘Dominique’ promises a dive into his more contemplative side.

As speculation continues to swirl around Lil Baby’s cannabis venture earnings, one thing is clear—his music is undeniably resonating with fans. Whether or not the reported figures mirror reality, Lil Baby’s artistry shows no signs of slowing down.
