In a candid Instagram Live session, Kodak Black addressed fan worries over his lifestyle, comparing himself to the late DMX.

Kodak Black faced comparisons to DMX while chatting with fans online. A viewer expressed concern over Kodak’s drug use, drawing parallels with DMX, who tragically passed in 2021 due to a heart attack induced by a drug overdose. Kodak was quick to respond, assuring the fan that his fate wouldn’t mirror the late Ruff Ryders legend, though he humorously added he wouldn’t mind going out like a legend.

Engaging with fans on Instagram Live, the rapper curtly responded, “Man shut the [expletive] up. Definitely ain’t going out like DMX,” he declared, acknowledging DMX as a legend while laughing off the concerns. “He a legend, though. Bitch I’d rather go out like DMX than go out like… [laughs] The [expletive]? Is you dumb? I do be feeling like DMX though a lot of the time.” Meanwhile, a video of this exchange was shared on social media, stirring conversations among his followers.

Kodak’s health and sobriety have been topics of discussion previously, especially following an admission in November of falling off the wagon. During another Instagram Live at a football game, Kodak playfully boasted about his lack of sobriety when a fan expressed appreciation for it. “Bitch, I ain’t sober. I look sober? I’m never sober, bitch,” he retorted, showcasing his casual attitude towards the situation. “For what? For what? Look at this money. Look at all this cash. Sober for what? I’m too young to die sober,” he added before handing the phone to a friend and jumping over a fence.

Concerns escalated in the earlier part of the month during Kai Cenat’s “Mafiathon 2” livestream, where Kodak seemed incoherent at times and was even spotted appearing to take pills on camera. A worrying moment showed him attempting a “trickshot” with a pill before collapsing, raising alarms among viewers and Cenat alike.

Kodak has been open about his struggles with addiction, revealing that it spiraled to consuming dozens of Percocet pills a day before managing to regain some control. He even voiced regret over glorifying drug use in his music, particularly in the hit song “Super Gremlin,” swearing never to perform it again. Despite efforts to stay clean, old habits appear hard to break, as indicated by a video in July where he was seen taking multiple pills, defiantly declaring he was about to “glitch right quick.”

Kodak Black’s interaction with fans highlights ongoing concerns about his health and lifestyle choices, drawing both criticism and support. His candid remarks, while entertaining, shed light on the struggles he continues to face.
