The city of Detroit celebrated his legacy by renaming a street near his family home in Conant Gardens to ‘J Dilla Street.’ The official ceremony took place on Thursday, a significant moment for Dilla’s admirers and family.

Adding to the celebration, Detroit City Council declared February 7th as ‘J Dilla Day,’ corresponding with his birthday. This annual recognition emphasizes his vast influence on various music genres, from hip hop to jazz.
