Rapper Boosie Badazz is once more appealing to Donald Trump, following the revival of his federal gun charges by Biden’s DOJ.
Boosie Badazz, the well-known rapper from Baton Rouge, finds himself in a legal quagmire and is seeking intervention from none other than Donald Trump. Boosie, whose real name is Torrence Hatch Jr., has taken to social media, specifically X, to voice his plea for a pardon directly to Trump. After Trump’s recent election victory, Boosie hopes the president will listen.
Previously in San Diego, Boosie had his federal gun case dismissed, only to face re-indictment by the Department of Justice under President Biden, who controversially pardoned his own son of a similar charge. Boosie claims he’s uniquely singled out by stating, “MY CASE WAS DISMISSED BUT BIDENS DOJ RECHARGED ME WITH THE SAME GUN CHARGE BIDEN PARDON HIS SON OF.”
In a heartfelt post, Boosie detailed his frustrations regarding his earlier legal troubles. He was sentenced to ten years in 2009 for serial marijuana offenses, without ever being offered rehabilitation. He paints a picture of being targeted due to his outspoken ways and the principles he stands by, expressing, “My mouth and things I stand on get me in a lot of trouble, but I’m real!”
Boosie’s legal issues stem back to June 2023, when he was initially arrested in San Diego. The arrest followed a separate gun charge dismissal, but not long after, he faced new charges again. The charges relate to being a felon in possession of a firearm, and transporting firearms across highways, among others. Instagram Live posts, where Boosie is seen with a gun, have compounded his legal woes.
Moreover, Boosie’s fight extends beyond his charges. While he’s been vocal about his past financially favorable situations under Trump, echoing how Biden’s taxes have impacted him, he now seeks for this administration to also come to his aid.
The new indictment is serious, charging Boosie with knowingly having a firearm while involved with controlled substances. If convicted, Boosie could face a decade behind bars. The prosecutors aim to confiscate all firearms and ammunition used in these alleged crimes.
Boosie’s plea to his fans is direct. On Instagram Live, he encouraged them to amplify his request for a pardon, initiating the hashtag #TrumpPardonBoosie. His lawyer, Meghan Blanco, has voiced her support, emphasizing that the charges are excessive.
Boosie Badazz’s encounter with the justice system is a tumultuous journey. His appeal to Trump showcases a desperate effort to seek relief amidst serious federal charges.
