In a lively chat on Club Shay Shay, Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz shared an amusing story about recording with the legendary Eminem. When working on songs like “Chloraseptic” and “Kyrie & Luka,” 2 Chainz wasn’t allowed to smoke weed in the studio, thanks to Eminem’s diligent team. While Eminem was elsewhere writing, his team prioritized a distraction-free environment for the rap giant.

2 Chainz humorously described the scene as he enjoyed the Malibu weather outside while listening to beats through speakers set up by Em’s team. However, when he returned to the booth, he couldn’t help but notice Eminem watching him record. “He in there while I’m recording, that’s hard,” Chainz recalled, capturing the cool vibe of the moment.

Things took a funny turn when Eminem attempted to enter the booth, only to be waved off by his concerned entourage. They were worried about him being exposed to the smoke, despite Eminem appearing nonchalant about the whole situation. 2 Chainz explained that Eminem’s attitude seemed to say, “Sit down, what do you think I’m going to do?”

Their collaboration on the track “Kyrie & Luka” brought their different styles together seamlessly. The song, produced by DJ Premier, included references to NBA stars Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic, with a nod to Eric B. & Rakim’s classic “Move the Crowd.” 2 Chainz cleverly wove basketball-themed lines into the song, with mentions of Julius Randle and Kyrie Irving highlighting his lyrical flair.

The collaboration with Eminem isn’t the only thing keeping 2 Chainz busy. He’s also released “Life is Beautiful,” a joint project with Larry June and The Alchemist, marking his first album since leaving Def Jam. In addition, he has plans for a joint album with Statik Selektah. It’s safe to say that 2 Chainz is having a productive year in the studio, keeping fans eagerly waiting for what’s next.
