Kanye West is facing another lawsuit, this time from German singer-songwriter Alice Merton. The controversy centers around Kanye’s alleged unauthorized sampling of Merton’s 2022 song ‘Blindside’ in his track ‘Gun to My Head,’ featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Kid Cudi.

Merton claims that BMG Rights Management had reached out to clear the sample in February last year, despite the song already being released. She denied the clearance, citing differences in values and disapproval of Kanye’s public remarks, which she described as ‘anti-semitic’ and ‘racist.’ Kanye has yet to respond to these accusations.

Amid this legal wrangle, Kanye has dropped an unfinished version of his new album ‘BULLY’ on select streaming platforms. The release is unconventional, appearing as a 45-minute music video on YouTube and Apple Music, a decision that has both intrigued and perplexed fans.

This black-and-white video, shot by Kanye and edited by Hype Williams, follows his nine-year-old son, Saint, battling wrestlers with a mallet. The album’s rollout deviates from the norm, yet it reflects Kanye’s flair for surprise and innovation.

The album ‘BULLY V1’ features nine songs, one less than anticipated. The song ‘Melrose,’ aided by Playboi Carti and Ty Dolla $ign, was removed due to personal disagreements. Instead, the album now highlights a collaboration with Mexican star Peso Pluma on the track ‘Last Breath,’ showcasing Kanye partly rapping in Spanish.

Despite the interesting visuals and musical shifts, the production details remain under wraps. Kanye earlier claimed he ‘chopped every beat with my bare hand’ for this album, signaling his hands-on approach, although AI technology was reportedly used for almost half of the vocals.

Kanye West’s latest legal troubles and unconventional album release continue to capture public attention, keeping fans and critics alike on their toes.
