Could the infamous rivalry between Kendrick Lamar and Drake really spell the end of Drizzy’s career? OVO’s Preme doesn’t think so. The rapper took to X, sharing a screenshot showing Drake’s latest single, “Nokia,” at number one on Apple Music’s Top 100: Global chart. It edged out Kendrick’s hits “Not Like Us” and “Luther.”

Preme wrote, “They said we were dead. They said it was over. They said Super Bowl was checkmate.” Through his words, he aimed to highlight Drake’s ongoing success. With “Nokia” at the helm, he suggests that Drake is not only surviving the rivalry but thriving.

Despite the chart success on Apple Music, Kendrick still maintains a strong presence on the Billboard Hot 100. His track “Luther” has dominated the top spot for six weeks. However, Drake’s “Nokia,” part of his joint project with PARTYNEXTDOOR called $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, is gaining momentum, recently rising to number 7 on the chart.

Drake’s journey back to the top hasn’t been easy. Since the feud began, his commercial success has taken a hit. However, “Nokia” presents hope for a turnaround. The track initially entered the Hot 100 at number 10 and dipped but has since climbed four positions. Its recently released music video could help it climb higher.

If “Nokia” manages to climb to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, it would mark Drake’s return to glory with his first chart-topping single since 2023’s “First Person Shooter,” the song that ignited their simmering rivalry. Preme’s words, “The best revenge is success,” echo Drake’s potential comeback story.

In the musical showdown between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, Preme defends Drake’s relevance with “Nokia” paving the way for a potential comeback.
