Birdman’s apparent onstage nap during a Hot Boys performance last month left fans buzzing, but fellow band member Turk isn’t concerned.
In an interview with B High ATL, Turk candidly addressed the viral moment, shrugging off any potential drama. “I don’t know what be going on, man,” he stated. “I be on that having Turk fun. I be in Turk’s world doing what I’m doing.” This laid-back attitude suggests he’s unfazed by the incident.
Birdman, whose head dropped and stayed motionless for over 15 seconds during the performance, has yet to comment on the episode. However, footage shows him laughing off the situation after fellow member B.G. nudged him. Fans speculated on social media, with one noting, “Bro ain’t sleep, he geeked,” while another urged, “Time to go ahead put the cup down unc. Do it for Ms Gladys.”
The Hot Boys’ mini reunion tour, featuring Birdman, Lil Wayne, and the crew, kicked off in Tampa and ended in St. Louis. This tour marked another chance for fans to see the group together since their last big reunion at Wayne’s LilWeezyana Fest in New Orleans last November.
Interestingly, their performance at the Essence Festival earlier faced hiccups. Wayne took to the stage only after B.G. and Juvenile, along with Mannie and Birdman, had wrapped up. Turk was missing from that show, citing business issues as the reason.
The dynamics within the group seem complex yet entertaining. After Wayne’s solo play, he switched Cash Money logos with those of his label, signaling he’s “here on behalf of Young Money fucking Records.”
While Birdman’s onstage nap sparked conversations, Turk’s response makes it clear there’s nothing to worry about. As fans speculate, the Hot Boys continue creating memorable performances, keeping audiences entertained.
