Company Breaks Down How They Built Drake’s 3,500-Block Ice Monument

EXPLOSIVE: Company Breaks Down How They Built Drake’s 3,500-Block Ice Monument!

In a surprising development, iceculture Inc., the family enterprise responsible for Drake’s promotional strategy for ICEMAN, has disclosed the impressive logistics involved in his colossal ice block installation that dominated downtown Toronto this week.

The organization, situated in Hensall, Ontario, produced over 3,500 individual ice blocks, each weighing roughly 300 pounds. These blocks were conveyed on 20 trucks to construct the 25-foot structure that displayed the release date of Drake’s much-awaited ninth studio album.

Heidi Bayley, president of the family-run business, which her father founded in 1991, clarified that the transparent ice necessitated a unique directional freezing process. This method expels air during production, resulting in incredibly hard and visually attractive blocks.

The installation drew large crowds to 81 Bond Street in downtown Toronto on April 20, with enthusiasts resorting to unconventional techniques to uncover the concealed information.

Several individuals arrived with pickaxes, sledgehammers, and blowtorches, while others ignited fires directly on top of the structure, desperate to discover the much-anticipated album’s release date.

The situation escalated rapidly, necessitating the Toronto Police Service’s intervention around 11:30 p.m. on the first night to control the risky circumstance and prevent injuries from falling ice pieces.

By Tuesday evening, Toronto Fire Chief Jim Jessop made the decision to intervene under the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, citing “dangerous and unsafe activities” and “an immediate threat to life” as his justification.Fans speculate that fire crews arrived with aerial trucks and began spraying warm water on the blocks throughout the night and into Wednesday morning, as reported by CBC News.

Bailey expressed disappointment at the fire department’s early removal of the installation, stating that it was “hard to watch it being melted” and that she’d “never seen anything like this before” in her many years of working with ice installations.

An industrial cleaning company, Prime Mobile Wash, was eventually contracted to complete the removal process after the fire crews concluded their operations.

Michael Gingerich, owner of Mawg Design, the marketing firm that partnered with Drake’s team on the project, recognized that the massive turnout surpassed their expectations.

He pointed out that while the objective was to make a significant statement for the highly awaited album release, the extent of fan fervor took everyone by surprise.

Bailey underscored that Iceculture’s reputation for managing large-scale projects and maintaining vast quantities of ice made them an ideal partner for this high-profile activation.

The company has previously established ice lounges in Thailand and Greece and built a drivable ice truck for Canadian Tire to promote cold-weather batteries, utilizing tools such as chainsaws, chisels, CNC machines, and bandsaws.

A streamer named Kishka discovered a blue folder hidden inside one of the ice blocks on Tuesday afternoon, revealing that Drake’s Iceman highly anticipated album is scheduled to be released on May 15, 2026, marking his first solo project since 2023’s For All the Dogs.

Drake confirmed the date on his Instagram that same evening.
