Kanye West surprised fans with a revelation: Kendrick Lamar, a top name in hip-hop, almost appeared on his album ‘Donda’.

It was a surprising twist no one saw coming. West took to social media to hint that Kendrick Lamar was nearly a guest on his 2021 album ‘Donda’. Lamar, known for his unique style, had previously collaborated with West on ‘No More Parties in L.A.’ from ‘The Life of Pablo’. However, this potential collaboration didn’t happen, despite ‘Donda’ featuring big names like Jay-Z, The Weeknd, and Travis Scott.

West explained in a post, “Man Top Dawg has always been such a good dude, great energy and it fell upon my heart to bring this up amidst all of my Kendrick slander. And it’s love to Kendrick and all his people. Kendrick could have sent that Donda verse in though when I needed him.” This post immediately sparked fans’ interest and raised questions about what could have been.

Despite the love-hate dynamic with Kendrick, West admitted he himself had been guilty of missing deadlines. “And I should have sent in my verses to Keem and to Don Toliver when they asked me and I apologize to both of them for that,” he confessed. This kind of honesty was just as shocking as the revelation about Lamar.

More recently, West criticized Lamar on social media, suggesting Kendrick’s latest work resembles West’s own ‘The Life of Pablo’. He called Lamar out for ‘copying’ his style, saying, “The last Kendrick album…is like a direct copy of [The Life of] Pablo.” West’s comments put a spotlight on the tension between the two artists and fueled ongoing debates among fans.

Kanye’s comments didn’t stop there. He also questioned why the NFL would choose Kendrick, someone he views as lacking hit songs, to perform at the Super Bowl. West criticized Lamar’s feature on Playboi Carti’s album as well. His strong opinions have made waves in the hip-hop community, but they also highlight his knack for stirring the pot and keeping his name in headlines.

In the grand scheme of things, West has even challenged Lamar to a rap battle, daring him to prove his place in the world of music. “KENDRICK WAS NEVER KING,” he boldly tweeted. For Kanye, the matter of who reigns in hip-hop seems far from settled.

Although Kendrick Lamar did not end up on ‘Donda’, Kanye West’s revelations have stirred significant interest and debate within the music community. The saga continues to evolve, with both artists at the center of attention.
