DJ Envy’s Ex-Partner Applies to Drive for Uber Amid Fraud Case

Cesar Pina, DJ Envy’s former business partner, has filed for a job with Uber as he faces trial for wire fraud charges.

Pina, represented by his lawyer, is asking the court to ease his release conditions so he can drive for Uber and earn a living. The request specifies that he wouldn’t take any airport rides.

The judge has yet to make a decision on this petition.

Pina was arrested last October, accused of defrauding millions from investors through a real estate scam. The allegations include using social media influence to lure followers into high-return investment deals, which authorities claim were fraudulent.

Legal documents reveal that both Pina and DJ Envy are under scrutiny for hosting seminars around the country designed to attract and allegedly deceive investors. Although Envy denies any guilt and remains unarrested, he is prepared to testify against Pina.

“We are aware that on December 20, 2023, the Court issued an Order compelling the production of documents demanded in those subpoenas,” wrote Envy’s lawyer, Daniel Marchese. He added that they had complied with the order by January 5, 2024, and confirmed that the documents were received by the Trustee.

Envy also stated that he is a victim, claiming he lost $500,000 in a project with Pina and his wife, Jennifer, aimed at converting a school into an apartment building.

With a potential Uber job on the horizon, Cesar Pina’s next move hinges on the court’s decision as he navigates his legal battle.
