In an unexpected twist, the Detroit Lions’ playoff dreams crumbled against the Washington Commanders, and rapper Cam’ron pins the blame squarely on LiAngelo Ball.

LiAngelo Ball, known for his transition from basketball to music, performed his hit track “Tweaker” during the Lions’ halftime show. Despite the Lions holding a stellar 15-win record in the regular season, they suffered a 45-31 loss.

Cam’ron, co-host of the ‘It Is What It Is’ show, didn’t hold back his criticism. In a fiery Instagram post, he argued that Ball’s performance was a mistake, suggesting the Lions could have chosen Detroit icons like Eminem or Big Sean instead.

Cam’ron said, “Y’all let Gelo Ball perform at halftime. What the fuck was that about?” He voiced his frustration, implying that the wrong choice of performer had tipped the scales against the Lions.

Despite blasting Ball for his halftime gig, Cam’ron admitted having a soft spot for “Tweaker.” Ball’s hit even landed him an $8 million deal with Def Jam and Universal Music Group, a testimony to his growing influence in the music industry.

In a podcast episode, Cam’ron clarified, “I never said Gelo can’t rap. I said he can’t play basketball.” This was a nod to Ball’s past attempts to make it in basketball, where he didn’t quite hit the mark.

The friction between Cam’ron and LiAngelo Ball is not new. Previously, they exchanged words over Ball’s basketball abilities, with Cam’ron quipping that Ball was more “Rebbie Jackson” than “Tito Jackson” in terms of basketball legacy.

Cam’ron’s comments emphasize the intersection of sports and entertainment, where even halftime performances can become a talking point. With LiAngelo Ball’s music career on the rise, it seems this saga between him and Cam’ron is far from over.
