In a previous chat with GQ, Rocky offered a more substantial update. He revealed that the album was in the “mixing and mastering” phase. Rocky emphasized the album’s completion but expressed a desire to surprise fans rather than make promises. “The album’s done. I just want to drop it,” he stressed, indicating his eagerness to share his new work with the world.
“Don’t Be Dumb” was initially slated for release last August, then postponed with an unspecified fall date. Unfortunately, it remains unreleased, keeping fans on edge for over a year now. This album will be his first in six years, following “Testing,” which received mixed reviews in 2018.
Recently, a fresh snippet of a track featuring a Metro Boomin beat surfaced, sparking interest. In it, Rocky addresses his recent legal battles with the lyrics, “I wear Armani to court, your honor/Look like John Gotti in court, your honor.” Whether this track will make the final cut remains uncertain, but it indicates Rocky’s readiness to move forward post-trial.
Despite playful banter and vague updates, A$AP Rocky’s fans are left eagerly anticipating “Don’t Be Dumb,” hoping that his promises soon become reality.
