The bond between 2Pac and Snoop Dogg took a turbulent turn when Snoop expressed admiration for their rivals, Diddy and Biggie, on radio. This created ripples at Death Row Records, as described by the label’s ex-boss, Suge Knight.

Suge Knight vividly recalled the incident during a conversation on The Art of Dialogue. He explained that 2Pac, known for his loyalty, was shocked and angered by Snoop’s comments.

“We were back at the hotel when 2Pac barged into my room,” Suge recounted. “He was agitated and asked for a radio to hear Snoop’s interview himself.” In disbelief, 2Pac heard Snoop say he would collaborate with Biggie, leaving him feeling betrayed.

The tension mounted when Snoop was mysteriously attacked while filming the music video for ‘New York, New York’ in NYC. It was rumored that Biggie orchestrated the assault. This added fuel to 2Pac’s frustration, accentuating the sense of disloyalty.
