The mixtape features guest appearances from eminent names such as Mary J. Blige, Skilla Baby, Tata, Honey Bxby, and Anthony Hamilton.

The first single from the mixtape, “Runaway Love Freestyle,” featuring Blige, was released earlier this month. It sets the tone for the entire project, which is a unique blend of pain, resilience, and ambition.

In a promotional clip, ScarLip remarks, “They say time heals everything. That’s just not true. There’s still wounds and scars that will never heal.”

Swizz Beatz, a renowned supporter of ScarLip’s journey, hosted a listening party prior to the release. He expressed his appreciation for her versatility and dedication.

He addressed the crowd saying, “People don’t develop creativity no more. They just wear no clothes and go outside. Adding fuel to the fire, this ain’t that. This is the real deal. Scar can do everything. As you can see, in seven songs, she checked all the boxes.”

Beatz further added, “It’s just been amazing to see this beautiful flower blossom. I’m just so proud of you.”

ScarLip’s life story is as raw and unfiltered as her music. At the age of 16, she suffered a punch in the mouth from her brother, which left a permanent scar and led to her being placed in foster care. She later embraced the name ScarLip as a means to reclaim her identity and transmute her trauma into motivation.

Scarred B4 Fame is now accessible on all major streaming platforms.
