Allow Rasheed Chappell to reintroduce himself with his dope new video/single, “101,” which is also the first leak off his upcoming First Brick EP produced entirely by living NYC legend Kenny Dope.

It’s been far too long—seven long years to be exact—since Chappell and Dope teamed up for Future Before Nostalgia, an album that became a classic amongst underground heads and was certainly ahead of its time.

And with the First Brick EP, the two are back at it with a project that sounds like it’s doubling down on the blueprint of its predecessor.

The artistic passion and hunger on “101” is palatable, and you can sense Chappell’s urgency not just in his rhymes but in the single’s video directed by foundationDIGITAL FILMS.

In addition to giving the emcee some time to flaunt his bars, we also see a short tale of what happens when a stick up kid’s bad karma comes around to, well, we won’t spoil it for you.
