Only Nasty Nas could do this – drop a music video for a joint he released 20 years ago. As part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of his landmark debut, Illmatic, Nas has teamed up with Mass Appeal’s Jason Goldwatch and Brian Katz to create the music video for “Represent.”

As part of a contest held by Nas and Mass Appeal, fans were invited to submit ideas and collaborate to produce the music video for the legendary track. Brian Katz was the lucky fan who won the competition.

The music video contains snippets of the 1924 silent film, The Thief of Bagdad, which DJ Premier, the track’s producer, sampled for “Represent.”
