Portland’s Al-One has been receiving high praise on his first project in over four years, Sharptongue with placements on 2Dopeboyz, Okayplayer, and more.

After dropping the !llmind produced Good God Bad Business video and Illmaculate, Theory Hazit featured Legends Of The Fall, Al-One turns people’s attention to the important topic of drug addiction in his new single “Sleep The Night Away.”

Painting the picture of a girl that was once every man’s desire slowly start to change appearance and lose her life to a heroin addiction.

With drug addiction, heroin specifically, being a huge issue in cities like Portland and Seattle, Al uses his story-telling abilities to present a song you can almost see unfold right in front of your eyes.

Al mixes the cold truth over sweet soulful production, provided by PDX’s own Rey Holliday, instantly giving listeners an element of nostalgia while telling a completely original story.

After trying to reach out to his lost friend, Al discovers the worst has occurred.
