Kendrick Lamar’s fourth studio album DAMN. has already been certified platinum three weeks after its release on April 14th.

After dropping a loosie “The Heart Part 4” on March 23rd which teased the album’s release, Top Dawg Entertainment dropped the album’s first single “Humble” and its accompanying music video on March 30th, following by the full project two weeks later.

DAMN. has already become Kendrick’s most successful album to date, debuting at the top of the Billboard 200 with 603,000 album-equivalent units moved in its first week of release. Surprisingly, Kendrick also outsold Drake’s More Life by almost 100,000 units and became the fastest selling of 2017 so far.

“Humble” also became Kendrick’s second number-one song (his Taylor Swift collaboration “Bad Blood” went number one) and first as a lead artist on the Billboard Hot 100.

It really is amazing to see how far Kendrick has come since the early days when Section.80 peaked at number 113 on the Billboard 200 in 2011. Top Dawg has done an incredible job these past few years, building TDE from an independent West Coast company to a global, powerhouse record label.
