2014 shaped up to be a pretty good year for Nas. Off the back of the 20th anniversary of Illmatic earlier this year, Nas travelled the globe to celebrate the album as well as the documentary Time is Illmatic.

Then out of the blue last week, Nas decided to drop “The Season” which featured a beat produced by the late, great J Dilla. Nas fans all over the world rejoiced and the internet blew up.

This week, Nas teamed up with VICE Japan to drop an a cappella version of his ’94 classic single “The World Is Yours.” Even though the legendary Pete Rock beat, which was created in under 10 minutes, is sorely missed, watching God’s Son spit that shit solo dolo is just fucking incredible.
