Phoniks dropped this project back in 2011 but this shit is rocking my headphones on a daily basis. The jazzy, soulful hip-hop producer reworks classics like Nas’ “It Ain’t Hard to Tell,” Mobb Deep’s “Shook Ones Pt II,” AZ’s “Doe or Die” and Biggie’s “Juicy” with his own unique touch. How he managed to turn the eerie Mobb Deep classic into a more upbeat version will always be a mystery to me.

Stream The Tape below and go cop it on Phoniks’ Bandcamp.
